Columbia Spectator stories on Columbia Jewelry: The jewelry is made of solid sterling silver, 22K gold micro-plated (high quality) sterling silver, and rhodium plated (like platinum) sterling silver. The sterling silver is a special alloy containing Germanium to make it highly tarnish resistant. Solid gold is available upon request. The crowns are highly polished. The Lions are satin finished with polished highlights. Everything is hand made in the USA. Columbia Jewelry is designed and manufactured by Columbia alumnus and volunteer Philip Ehrlich, GS '88 at the request of the Columbia Office of Alumni And Development. The name of the design company is American Identity Designs, LLC. Columbia receives 10% royalties of gross sales. The jewelry can be seen in person at selected university and school events, and in Columbia Bookstore for several days at Commencement and during the Grad Fair the last week of March.
